Community Liaison Officer & Team Leader
The role of the Community Liaison Officer is vital in enabling growth and change for the communities within the Black Country.
The Community Liaison Officer seeks to empower individuals and groups of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people with the skills they need to affect change within their communities.
Additionally, the Community Liaison Officer supports other services at Zebra Access to ensure all community users and professional bodies have access to all services.
The Community Liaison Officer will also work alongside professional bodies to improve accessibility for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people.

I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Zebra Access. I have undertaken years of training with various organisations (NSPCC, Wolverhampton Safeguarding Board, Athena Safeguarding & more) And I do refresher courses every 2 years.
I also am responsible for ensuring the safeguarding policies (Children & Adults) are updated every 2 years and are checked by our local Safeguarding board & external HR before it’s signed off.
We also have a designated Safeguarding Trustee, Louise Rhodes who have many years of experience.
I also am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and a First Aider.

Services
With the support of funders such as the National Lottery's Community Fund, BFI, Foundations, Trusts and so on, Zebra Access CIO provides a range of free services and support to Deaf, Deafblind, Hard of Hearing and Deafened people and communities. Zebra Access staff, volunteers have the right to work in a safe and abuse free environment alongside with service users. The organisation will not tolerate any kind of abuse against its staff, volunteers, service users or property.
