Work for us: Healthy Living Support Officer
Zebra Access is delighted to have secured funding from The Eveson Trust to deliver a new Healthy Living project for Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people across Wolverhampton, the Black Country and surrounding areas.
This is a one-year project focused on improving health and wellbeing, increasing access to services and reducing the barriers many Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people face in everyday life.
This role will play a key part in developing and delivering accessible wellbeing support, working closely with individuals, communities and partner organisations. You will be supported by the wider team and the Operations Manager to help shape and grow this important area of work.
This is a project funded by The Eveson Trust.
Candidates applying for this role will need to:

Develop and deliver one-to-one and group wellbeing support for Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people

Challenge and address wellbeing barriers linked to communication and wider society
-
Support individuals to build confidence, stability and healthy living awareness

Deliver workshops, activities and community-based support
-
Work with local health organisations and partners to improve accessibility of services

Engage with communities to reduce isolation and improve overall wellbeing
-
Work independently and use your own initiative

Be a fluent BSL user

Have experience communicating with a wide range of people in different settings
We are looking for someone who is passionate about:

Supporting people to feel confident, informed and connected
POST: Healthy Living Support Officer (2.5 days per week, 20 hours, working days to be agreed)
CONTRACT TYPE: One year fixed term contract
SALARY: £27,000 per annum, pro-rata depending on experience and qualifications
HOURS: 20 hours per week. Some flexibility is required, with time off in lieu provided for additional hours worked
LOCATION: Based in Wolverhampton, with work across the Black Country and surrounding areas. Home working may be required
