The brave trio accomplished their skydiving mission to fundraise for Wolverhampton-based, Deaf-led charity Zebra Access.

The brave thrill-seekers Chris Beech, Sebastiana Mazzocchio and Frazer Cockle took the plunge to take part in the Charity Tandem Skydive on Monday 18^th September 2017 to raise funds for Zebra Access.

The group gathered at the Langar Airfield near Nottingham, where they undertook training with an instructor to learn about the equipment, the actual skydive and how to land safely. Videos and photos have been shared on Zebra Access' Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, documenting how the group were feeling and what went on during the day. They all successfully leapt out of the plane at about 13,500 feet, flying down at 120mph for 50 seconds before the parachute opened!

There are more than 11 million people in the UK with some form of hearing loss; that's one in six of us. The lack of events that are available in sign language means that deaf people, especially those whose first language is British Sign Language, are unable to enjoy equal participation and access without experiencing communication barriers.

Over £1200 has been raised by the skydive and this will go towards the costs involved in organising the skydiving event and to Zebra Access to help develop opportunities for deaf people by providing access to a range of activities, promoting and advocating a healthier lifestyle, raising awareness and improving accessibility to technology, services and facilities.
