winter Pressure Workshop - Deaf mental health - Deaf4Deaf

On the 13th February, we had our last remote Winter Pressures workshop to discuss deaf mental health and the different approaches to receive support such as the various types of counselling etc. Deaf4Deaf is working with us through winter pressure funding and are giving deaf people free counselling sessions.  Victoria Nelson, Deaf Psychotherapist at Deaf4Deaf delivered the workshop to share all information regarding deaf mental health.

Being deaf with mental health can come with big barriers in receiving support, which can impact your physical and mental wellbeing. For deaf individuals, the experience can be much more stressful due to communication barriers and confidence issues which can lead to anxiety and stress on your body.

Victoria explained that some services can support you with your mental health journey as they can help you with coping emotionally by providing you with support and peer support.

If you are feeling low or stressed, please look at Deaf4Deaf or any other deaf mental health support websites for more information. If you need additional support, Zebra Access is happy to support you.

A big Thank you to Victoria for coming to come talk to us about how having deaf mental health.  Also, Big thank you to Deaf 4 Deaf for providing a counselling session to deaf community in Walsall and Wolverhampton.
