Zebra Access is seeking an experienced freelance evaluator to document and analyse the impact of the 100-Year Heritage of Walsall Deaf Community project. This two-year initiative, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, celebrates the legacy of Walsall’s Deaf community from 1919 to 2019.
Key Details:
- Time Period: January 2025 – February 2026
- Fee: £3,500 – £4,000 (inclusive of travel, equipment, expenses, and VAT)
- Location: Hybrid (Walsall, West Midlands, and remote working)
- Deadline for Applications: 13th December 2024
Purpose of the Role
The evaluator will gather insights and feedback through BSL video interviews and face-to-face sessions, producing a detailed report to highlight successes, areas for improvement, and actionable recommendations for future heritage initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven track record in evaluating community or heritage projects.
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) and understanding of Deaf culture.
- Expertise in conducting interviews, analysing data, and generating comprehensive reports.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an evaluation framework.
- Engage with the Deaf community and stakeholders to collect diverse perspectives.
- Analyse findings and deliver a written report alongside a BSL video summary.
