Mental Health Awareness Week 9th-15th May
We had a stall in Mander centre for Mental Health Awareness Week along with other organisations to raise awareness about mental health.
Currently 1 in 2 deaf people will be affected by mental health/illness which is twice more than the national number of 1 in 4 being reported for UK. Currently there are very few deaf specific MH services.
We have recently launched our winter pressure projects in Wolverhampton and Walsall which is aimed to support Deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people to be able to receive accessible counselling- https://www.zebra-access.com/projects/winter-pressure
