This recognition comes during a milestone year for Deaffest, following the successful completion of its 16th edition in May 2026. Since its launch, Deaffest has grown into one of the UK's leading Deaf-led arts and film festivals, providing a platform for Deaf filmmakers, artists, performers, and creatives to showcase their work and share their stories with wider audiences.

Over the past 20 years, Deaffest has championed Deaf talent and creativity while bringing communities together through film screenings, performances, exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events. Its continued success is a testament to the passion, dedication, and hard work of the many staffs, volunteers, partners, artists, and supporters who have contributed to its journey.
