A Trip to Coronation Street!

Due to high demand, we were thrilled to make our community's wish come true by organizing a coach trip for a behind-the-scenes tour of one of Manchester's most iconic locations—Coronation Street! Our excitement began as soon as we spotted the huge 'Coronation Street' sign outside, right before we entered the coach car park.

Our tour started in the pre-show cinema room, where we watched a film showcasing Corrie’s best moments over the past 60 years. It was both nostalgic and emotional, bringing back memories of beloved characters, some no longer with us, and capturing the funny and heartfelt moments that have defined the show. For many of us who have been watching Corrie since childhood, it was a wonderful trip down memory lane.

After the screening, our tour guide led us on a 90-minute walk around the famous cobbles of Coronation Street. We saw the exterior of iconic spots like the Rovers Return, Street Cars, Roy's Rolls, and more, snapping plenty of photos along the way.

Next, we explored the exhibition, which displayed the show’s timeline from the 1960s to today. It was amazing to stand on the legendary set of the Rovers Return, where many of us took turns posing behind the bar. The costume display was another highlight, featuring memorable outfits, including Gemma’s unforgettable orange wedding dress!

After soaking up all the Corrie history, we boarded the coach, which took us to the Trafford Centre for some free time to shop and grab lunch before heading back to Wolverhampton at 4 p.m. It was a fabulous day filled with fun, nostalgia, and great company!
