100 Years of Walsall Deaf Community Heritage Project Reaches Post-Production Milestone

We are delighted to share an exciting update on the 100 Years of Walsall Deaf Community Heritage Project, which has now moved into its post-production phase.

Over the past months, we have had the privilege of capturing a rich collection of interviews with members of the Deaf community. These conversations have been powerful, personal and deeply insightful, bringing to life the stories, experiences and history that have shaped the Walsall Deaf community over the past century. From memories of the Deaf club and social activities to reflections on identity and change, each interview has added something truly special to this project.

We are also pleased to share that both the production and post-production of the film are being delivered by Zebra Uno, whose team has been working closely with us to ensure these stories are captured and presented with care.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that a community screening will be taking place in May. This will be a special opportunity to come together, celebrate the project and watch the film as a community. More details will be shared shortly, so please do keep an eye out. Watch this space.

This project would not have been possible without the incredible support we have received. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to preserve, celebrate and share an important part of Walsall’s Deaf heritage for current and future generations.
