Zebra Access to launch project in Cornwall
We're delighted to announce that Zebra Access has been awarded a Big Lottery Fund Grant to launch the 'Cornish Deaf Community Access Awareness and Training' project in March 2018.
The Wolverhampton-based charity, which is dedicated to ensuring that all Deaf people, both adults and children, enjoy equal participation and access without communication barriers, will deliver a range of advocacy workshops for deaf people in Cornwall.
"I am so excited about the launch of the 'Cornish Deaf Community Access Awareness and Training' project in March 2018. I am very much looking forward to working with new colleagues and meeting new people in and around the area. Whilst the initial funding covers the period from March to September 2018, we hope to have continued funding after that time so that we can develop our work in the area further. It really is great news and I am looking forward to getting started on the project in the new year." - Marilyn Willrich, one of the Zebra Access' Directors.
Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund, the project will facilitate the development of life skills and increase deaf people's confidence in their local community.
Keep an eye on our news for further information about this exciting project.
